In Terms 4-6, we invite the students to extend their day and take part in Extra-Curricular activities. Since its introduction in 2014 this has proven to be very successful and the school has received a lot of positive feedback.
Pupils have benefited from a range of activities, e.g. Air Track, Mountain Biking, Bike Repairs, cooking, Football, Soft Ball, Man Hunt, Pool, Tennis and Social Skills Training. There is also the option of quiet time; playing chess for those students who wish to participate but would rather have a quiet environment to enjoy their chosen activity.
We have a number of students who make good use of the Extra-Curricular Day by staying-on to help improve their Academic Studies including English, Maths, ICT and Science.
Students are supervised at all times and have access to refreshements.
The allotted evening is Thursday, from 3:30pm to 5.00pm. The activities can be subject to change if the weather is unsuitable or other unforeseen circumstances arise.
We currently have in excess of 30 students making the most of the opportunities provided within the Extra Curricular Programme. The Programme is continually monitored and evaluated throughout and parents or carers receive termly feedback about their students’ engagement within it.
