It is an expectation that all Downland School learners wear the approved school uniform. Our pupils take great pride in their school and this is always reflected in the way they dress. Spare uniform will be loaned by the School for those who arrive without uniform. Hairstyles must be sensible and within society ‘norms’.
Blue polo shirt
Black polo shirt – Year 11 pupils only
Blue fleece and/or waterproof coat
Black sweatshirt - Year 11 pupils only
Black school shorts
Black Shoes or Plain Black Trainers
All uniform is available from school to purchase.
It is very important that pupils wear the appropriate PE kit for Physical Education, i.e loose fitting to ensure ability for movement and footwear with good soles to prevent slipping or falling.
Fleece -(for winter)
White Sport Socks
Jewellery (which should be restricted to small studs) must not be worn during PE or games lessons for safety reasons. If pierced earrings cannot be removed the children will be requested to tape them for the duration of the lesson.
If it is agreed by the Local Authority that your child is to commence at Downland School then a starting date is negotiated between the parents and school. Parents complete a questionnaire concerning general information and health matters and discuss uniform, sports kit and lunches, with the school.
