Educational visits and trips have clear benefits for pupils’ engagement and learning progression, we organise a number of successful visits and outdoor learning activities each year
Downland School fully recognises that learning outside the classroom helps to bring the curriculum to life – it provides deeper subject learning and increases self-confidence. It also helps pupils develop their risk awareness and prepares them for their future working lives.
Before an out of school activity takes place all the possible risks are assessed and a risk assessment is completed and approved by Wiltshire Council, and via Evolve.
Prior to any off-site educational visit, parent / carer permission must be obtained and pupils informed of the criteria and expectations required for them to participate.
